The Cape West Coast stretches along the Atlantic coastline up to Namaqualand. Its endless beaches, fascinating mountain ranges and the colourful carpets of wild flowers during spring make it a popular local destination. The West Coast National Park is the perfect place to start exploring and offers great bird-watching opportunities. The holiday town of Langebaan is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts and just around the corner is the Fossil Park with one of the world’s richest fossil sites. The coast road, Route 27, with its fishing villages which have become a seafood mecca where visitors can enjoy delicacies fresh from the sea in open-air restaurants. The beautiful Cederberg mountain range is another main attraction in the region with its adventurous hiking and 4×4 trails and ancient rock art.
