Cederberg Tourist Resort

Cederberg Tourist Resort on Kromrivier Farm, in the valley beyond Algeria, offers simple accommodation in mostly prefabricated, self-catering cottages with braai facilities, as well as indoor fireplaces. It also has campsites, without electricity, along the riverbank and spotless ablution blocks. The resort has a small shop and restaurant, which serves snacks and light meals during the day.

Sanddrif Holiday Resort on Dwarsrivier Farm has self-catering cottages, which sleep from 4 to 10 people, as well as campsites. Dwarsrivier is a working wine farm and offers tastings and cellar tours.

Travellers’ Rest

Travellers’ Rest, in the Agter-Pakhuis area, has 16 cottages scattered over a number of farms. These original farm labourers’ cottages have been refurbished, with most comprising two bedrooms and two bathrooms (shower only), cosy fireplaces indoors and braai facilities outdoors. Some of the cottages are near rivers where you can swim in natural pools, while others are near mountains popular with climbers. An old farmhouse sleeps groups of up to 21 people in 7 bedrooms.

Enjolife Nature Farm

Enjolife Nature Farm in the Biedouw Valley is known for its early spring flowers. It has two small, one¬room cottages which sleep four (two in a loft reached by a ladder) and have well-equipped, modern kitchenettes. Another tiny cabin on the farm sleeps two, plus one in a loft, and has a kitchenette on the stoep. There are three campsites close to the river, as well as a reservoir of mountain water for swimming.

Mount Ceder, just south of Matjiesrivier Nature Reserve on the Grootrivier, has eight self-catering chalets, ranging from one to three bedrooms. The smallest are across the road from the restaurant and reception area, while others are closer to the river swimming and canoeing areas. The largest has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a spa bath on its deck with a view of the river.
